Our philosophy
We strongly believe that success in rugby comes from enjoyment coupled with hard work.
As members of a team each player should aim to develop their own skills and fitness, under the guidance of their coaches, to the highest level possible. This developes personal pride, a healthy competitive attitude and builds a strong team.
At Coleraine Youth rugby we aim for our sessions to:
- help develop a steady improvement in player fitness
- build skills from an introductory to a high level of proficency through demonstration, focused practise drills and in game use.
- develop a sound understanding of the rules of play
- a positive sporting yet competitive attitude
- build strong supportive and positive team attitudes
- be fun
Expectations
Player are expected to:
- commit to regular attendance at training sessions
- commit to attending games as required
- commit to developing their own personal fitness over and above training sessions
- treat coaches and officials with respect and courtesy
- work within their squad to develop positive and supportive teams focused on enjoyment through success
